I don’t think my review will do this memoir/murder book justice. The Fact of a Body is truly a masterpiece. It is a book which really shows both the good and bad parts of humanity. Of the good and bad everyone can do. At the family secrets which lie buried and are eventually unearthed.

As I read, I felt a myriad of emotions which affected me after learning about the author’s personal struggles and what she endured during her childhood. Furthermore, the murder part of the story is heavy with both the history of the killer, Ricky Langley and events leading up to the murder of Jeremy Guillory.

“I remember a new heaviness in my body, but maybe that’s the work of time and my looking back.” – The Fact of A Body by Alexandria Marzano-Lesnevich

The Fact of A Body is written in unflinching honesty from the viewpoint of the author and several people who are connected to the case. The story is told in a way which is clear, precise and honestly raw in its portrayal– at the countless hours and years of research to bring the characters in the story to life.

All in all, I am impressed at how the author delved into the story and told it in the vein of true crime without leaving a stone unturned. It is riveting and makes you gasp in shock, recoil at what happened and finally learn acceptance at the horrifying and unforgettable experience.

Thank you to Pansing Books for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Now available in all bookstores!
